  Women Only Class

Sometimes its easier to learn without the guys around.  Fly fishing is a great sport for women.  Its beautiful, intellectually challenging and rewarding.  It requires finesse, timing, patience and creativity not brute strength.

I'll teach you how to cast and how to rig up your rod and leader and fly.

I'll show you which flies to use and when and how to fish them.  I'll go over all my gear with you and answer your questions.  I want you to feel comfortable and confident 'talkin' shop' with guides and fly shop employees and telling that great fish story in the bar.  I'll give you the quick and dirty on bugs (turning over rocks to look at nymphs and how to keep caddis out of your sports bra) why fish are slimy and how to release them without getting slimed, and a few tips on "heading into the woods".

Finally we'll look at the river and talk safety, etiquette and strategy.

Of course any of our classes can be taken and/or taught by Women Only - just let us know and we'll send Bob fishing with the guys.

(Note on  photo - our buddy, Kory, caught a beautiful steelhead hen on her FOURTEEN foot rod and with the help of Jenny and Annie, fishing dogs, I'm  "tailing" it for her - its hard to grab one of these fish while also holding a super long rod...)

To set up an appointment call 406-682-3238.    If we are off fishing just leave a message and we'll catch up with you - or better yet, email cezanne@madisonrivercasting.com.  Click here for rates and details.
